This presentation focuses on technique and learning the four levels of prompting that supports the broader, holistic philosophy and approach of PROMPT. This presentation will focus exclusively on the PROMPT method.
You must be a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) that is legally eligible to provide speech assessment, diagnosis and treatment services in your location to complete the Introduction to PROMPT: Technique Module Format. Parents or other professionals who are not SLPs are not eligible to participate due to the extensive background knowledge required to master PROMPT.Those who register but are not a legally eligible SLP, as stated above, will not receive a certificate of completion and will not be refunded for their registration fee.

Presentation Description: These 10 recorded modules focused on the following aspects of PROMPTs for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT): learning PROMPT technique, applying the PROMPT assessment, and designing PROMPT treatment.
Learning Outcomes:
At the conclusion of the Introduction to PROMPT: Technique – Modules, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the philosophy of PROMPT as well as the Global and Physical-Sensory theories that have contributed to PROMPT. (Module 1)
2. List and explain the steps of an informal motor speech assessment using the PROMPT approach. (Modules 2 & 5)
3. Define and execute PROMPT application principles and Parameter PROMPTs. (Module 3)
4. Define and execute Surface PROMPTs. (Module 4)
5. Define and execute Complex PROMPTs and Syllable PROMPTs. (Module 6)
6. Describe Cognitive-Linguistic and Social-Emotional theories that have contributed to PROMPT. (Module 7)
7. Define and execute on-line shaping. (Module 8)
8. Identify motor requirements for motor phoneme links and list motor phoneme links to address motor breakdowns as they relate to stages III, IV and V of the Motor Speech Hierarchy. (Modules 8 & 9)
9. Complete the PROMPT assessment process by applying the Systems Analysis Observation and Motor Speech Hierarchy to three case studies. (Modules 2, 5, 10)
10. Complete the PROMPT treatment planning process by formulating motor speech goals, choosing motor phoneme links to address motor breakdowns and designing interactive therapy activities as appropriate for three case studies. (Modules 9 & 10)
